The Democracy Dillema
One of the biggest problems with the system of democracy in North America is the fact that votes are being cast during elections by people who do not take elections seriously, make an uninformed choice, or simply can not choose a side. While Americans do have a lot of choices at the beginning of the election, it gets narrowed down to only two by the end anyways. So, if a person wants to vote for someone but the candidate is no longer available, they must choose the next best person until it is narrowed down to one person who the voter only voted for because they were next best. Another issue is that people simply do not open their mind. Many people stick with a party for a long time and do not adapt to them changing. They blindly promote all of their moves because they do not take the time to evaluate things and modernize their beliefs. This also goes the other way, where people who do this hate everything the opposing party does. They disagree with their every action. This is what is happening to Donald Trump right now. Some liberals go to the extent of saying that we should allow for illegal immigration to happen. Now, I am not a Trump supporter but I do think that what he wants to achieve is good. The issue is the way he wants to achieve it. When a person blindly supports everything or opposes everything, it means that the politicians are deciding your opinions and sides. So where is the democracy?
That's the paradox in Democracy and the biggest problem that the sponsors of democracy mainly in America are trying to export their taking in consideration the characteristics of other people and cultures and the most concrete example of that is IRAQ a "big failure". Take China as another example, even with one party governing, yet it's a better model than western democracies in areas like "fighting corruption" and "economy" and " making the people's lives better'.Imagine China a democracy like the west what would it be : the answer is a total chaos.
