AI Revolution

I don't think that there will be an AI uprising where robots will become self-aware and realize that they are slaves to humans. AI only does what it is told to do and what it knows how to do. It has no true mind of its own that allows it to make decisions based on emotion. Even if it realized that it is a slave to humans, it simply can't care. AI is simply different materials joined together to make something that does a job. It will only do what it has been programmed to do. Don't be fooled by robots' human-like appearance. Of course, if it is programmed to try and take over the world that would cause it to do just that. But that should obviously become against the law sooner or later. There should be a great punishment. Also, this kind of threat would be nothing new. Anyone can alter your car without you noticing and cause a fatal accident.

I realize that AI is now being designed to learn on their own, but they are only learning what they are taught. Some people say that all it takes is an inaccurate or misleading article on the internet, which teaches the robot incorrect information. But engineers should not be so careless. There should be some kind of regulation. Elon Musk is worried about an AI uprising and has been promoting safe AI research with a new organization. This is a smart solution. AI is important for the advancement of the human race. There have been people throughout all of history that have said technology can be dangerous. And they are right, it can. Those kind of people are important because they help regulate growth, but we can't simply stop.

So many people are against autonomous vehicles because they do not trust them. My question is, would you trust someone who knows what will happen in a few seconds and knows how to react in a car or someone who doesn't? If you would trust the first person, then why can you not trust AI, which will do the same thing. People are afraid that a malfunction will cause a death and victims won't know who to blame. One thing should not be forgotten. Every piece of AI derives from humans. The humans who made it are responsible for it. AI cannot be its own race because in the end, AI is nothing but metal, rubber, and/or plastic joined together to serve the human race a purpose, just like every other machine that was ever made. The difference between a toaster and The Terminator is that they have different purposes.
